A gifted musician, Colin learned to play the piano, drums, and guitar. He focused on the guitar, becoming skilled at playing music from his favorite bands with his friends.
Never one to shy away from the snow, Colin became a master igloo maker.
An expert skier, Colin frequently skied moguls and black runs at Winter Park and cross country skied around the rocky mountains.
Colin was an experienced backpacker, venturing into the mountains at a young age with his family, then as an adult on solo trips and excursions with friends.
An avid reader, Colin enjoyed history, science fiction, philosophy and books about mountain climbing and exploration.
Colin loved hockey and was a lifelong, loyal Avalanche fan. A skilled player himself, Colin learned to play as a kid, later joining teams as an adult with friends at the local recreation center.
Colin was great with kids and worked as a babysitter in high school, becoming a fast favorite in the neighborhood. Later on he spoke of what it’d be like to have a family of his own.
Colin was an encyclopedia of information. He was known for his knowledge on a wide variety of topics and could talk your ear off about all of them.
